The TFH Giant Vibrating Floor Pad delivers full-body vibration therapy across a surface large enough for children and adults to lie, sit, or rest on comfortably - and precise enough to target specific zones of the body with independent motor control. Available across Canada & the US at $1,408 CAD, it is a versatile, wipe-clean proprioceptive tool for sensory rooms, OT clinics, care environments, and homes where consistent, controllable vibration input is a therapeutic or sensory regulation priority.
Zone Control - The Feature That Matters Most
Most vibrating mats provide a single vibration level across the whole surface. The TFH Giant Vibrating Floor Pad works differently. Five independent 12v motors are distributed across the pad, and the hand-held controller selects combinations of which motors activate and at what speed. This means the facilitator or user can choose full-body vibration across the entire 96" x 48" surface, or isolate specific zones - targeting the back, the legs, the torso, or the shoulders independently. For OTs building vibration into a sensory diet or targeting specific joints and muscle groups, this level of control is therapeutically meaningful in a way that a single-speed mat cannot replicate.
The pad is large enough for adults as well as children, making it genuinely usable across the full age and size range of a typical caseload.
Key Features of the TFH Giant Vibrating Floor Pad
- Five Independent 12v Motors - Distributed across the full pad surface to enable both full-body and zone-specific vibration; all motors are low-voltage 12v for safe, consistent performance; the motor configuration is what distinguishes this from simpler single-motor vibrating mats
- Hand-Held Zone Controller - Alters combinations of motor activation and speed across the five zones; gives the facilitator or user direct control over which areas of the body receive vibration input and at what intensity; supports targeted therapeutic applications as well as full-body relaxation
- Large Format - 96" x 48" x 3" - A genuinely full-body surface for children and adults; at 8 feet long and 4 feet wide the pad accommodates lying down comfortably at full stretch; the 3" foam thickness provides cushioning without compromising vibration transmission
- Vinyl-Covered Wipe-Clean Surface - The vinyl cover wipes clean easily with household cleaner; straightforward to disinfect between users in shared clinical or educational settings; standard stock colour is white
- Transformer Powered - Consistent, reliable mains power via transformer; no batteries to replace
- Multi-Surface Use - Suitable for use on the floor, a therapy table, or a bed; placement adapts to the session and the user's positioning needs
- Ships from Ontario - Dispatched directly from TFH's Ontario warehouse; oversized item, additional shipping charges apply
- Personal Use Item - Not eligible for return or refund; intended for therapeutic use, not extended continuous use
Why Vibration Supports Proprioception and Sensory Regulation
Vibration is processed through the proprioceptive system - the network of mechanoreceptors in muscles, joints, and connective tissue that tells the nervous system where the body is in space. When the body receives consistent vibratory input across a large surface area, the proprioceptive system is stimulated in a way that tends to be deeply calming and organising. For individuals who are proprioceptively under-responsive - who seek out heavy work, pressure, and movement input to feel regulated - a vibrating floor pad provides that input passively, without requiring active effort from the user.
The same input supports muscle stimulation and circulation, which are therapeutic goals in rehabilitation, palliative care, and physical therapy contexts that extend well beyond sensory regulation. One parent of a child with cerebral palsy described it as one of the best things they had purchased - noting the relaxing sensory experience, the range of mode options, and the large, wipeable surface.
Occupational therapists incorporate large-format vibrating pads into sensory diets for individuals who need consistent proprioceptive input as part of a structured therapeutic programme. The zone control capability of this pad supports precise session planning in a way that single-speed alternatives cannot.
Ideal For
- Occupational therapists incorporating vibration therapy and proprioceptive input into individual sensory integration programmes
- Sensory rooms in schools, clinics, and residential facilities where a large-format, wipe-clean vibrating surface serves a range of users across the day
- Paediatric physiotherapy and rehabilitation settings where vibration supports muscle stimulation and circulation alongside therapeutic exercise
- Families and carers supporting children or adults with proprioceptive sensory needs at home, where a full-body vibration surface provides consistent, calming input
- Long-term care homes and palliative care environments where gentle vibration supports relaxation, comfort, and body awareness for adult residents
- Any setting across Canada & the US where a controllable, zone-targeted, large-format vibrating sensory pad is needed for therapeutic or regulation purposes
- Dimensions: 96" x 48" x 3" (approximately 244cm x 122cm x 7.5cm)
- Motors: Five independent 12v motors
- Controller: Hand-held, alters combinations of motor speed and zone activation
- Power: Transformer
- Cover: Vinyl, wipe-clean, white
- Multi-surface use: Floor, therapy table, or bed
