Most interactive light panels respond to what you do and then reset. The TFH Pixels Pro Illumination Panel does something different: it remembers. After every session of colour-pressing, pattern-building, and creative interaction, Pixels plays back everything you made - a slow, graceful replay of your own light art, fading through the layers you built, right up until the moment you start again. This is an interactive sensory light panel for Canada & the US that rewards engagement not just in the moment, but after it.
Controlled via the attached colour buttons, a black erase/random button, or the free MSE Genie App on an iPad or iPhone, the Pixels Pro offers three distinct discovery modes that each deliver a fundamentally different visual and creative experience. It operates in complete silence, making it as suitable for calm, regulated therapy environments as it is for classrooms and sensory rooms.
Three Discovery Modes of the TFH Pixels Pro Illumination Panel
Circle Grow and Fade
The first mode activates automatically when Pixels is plugged in. Push and hold any colour button to grow a circle of that colour from the centre of the panel outward. The longer you hold, the larger the circle grows. Colours layer over one another as you work, building a composition of overlapping rings. Press the black button to erase from the centre out. When you stop pressing, the circles slowly fade inward - a gentle, predictable visual that self-resolves over time. This mode rewards patience and deliberate holding, making it a natural fit for fine motor development, sustained attention practice, and colour exploration.
Fireworks
The second mode turns the panel into a personal fireworks display. Press any colour button once for a single firework burst in that colour. Press repeatedly for multiple bursts. Hold the button down to pause the fireworks mid-flight and release to let them fly. Press the black button once for random individual fireworks; press it multiple times for a full multi-coloured fireworks show. When you stop pressing, Pixels plays back your last sequence - the firework pattern you created replays on the screen until you engage again. This mode is high-energy and highly motivating, making it particularly effective for building cause-and-effect understanding through immediate, dramatic visual feedback.
Dot Tracking
The third mode introduces a moving element: a white dot that travels across the panel from left to right, row by row from top to bottom. Press any colour button once to change the colour of the dot. Hold a colour button to make the dot grow as large as you want; release and it continues on its path at its new size. Press the black button to erase the screen and reset. This mode demands visual tracking, anticipation, and timing - the user must watch the dot move and decide when to interact. For therapists working on visual tracking, eye-hand coordination, and colour discrimination, it is a structured engagement tool in a beautifully simple format.
Key Features of the TFH Pixels Pro Illumination Panel
- Three Interactive Discovery Modes - Circle Grow and Fade, Fireworks, and Dot Tracking each offer a distinct creative and therapeutic engagement experience, giving users variety across sessions and therapists a range of applications in a single device
- Pixels Remembers & Replays Your Work - Each mode's auto-playback feature replays the user's most recent creative session when interaction pauses, creating a reward loop that extends engagement and provides a visual record of the user's activity
- Multi-Colour Button Control with Black Erase Button - The attached buttons give immediate physical control over colour selection and effects; the black button provides erase and random-fireworks functions, keeping the interaction vocabulary simple and accessible
- MSE Genie App Compatible (iPad & iPhone) - The panel is compatible with the free MSE Genie App (available on the App Store), allowing iPad and iPhone control for users and settings already in the TFH Genie ecosystem
- Switch-Adaptable - Compatible with TFH switches for users with limited motor function who cannot operate the attached buttons directly, ensuring the panel is accessible to users of all motor abilities
- Completely Silent Operation - The panel generates no sound during operation, making it ideal for environments where auditory sensitivity, noise management, or quiet spaces are priorities
- Rewards Repeated Colour Selections - Unlike most colour-choice devices, the Pixels Pro rewards repeated presses of the same colour with increasingly intense and impressive results - choosing red multiple times builds a deeper, more vivid red effect rather than cycling away from it
- Suitable for a Wide Range of Environments - Silent, wall-mountable, and designed for continuous use, the panel works in sensory rooms, therapy clinic walls, classroom calm corners, hospital waiting rooms, and residential settings
- Made in England by TFH - Manufactured to TFH's established standards of sensory room equipment quality and durability
The Therapeutic & Creative Case for the Pixels Pro
At the core of the Pixels Pro is a deceptively simple insight: the panel gives users the experience of making something. Not just pressing buttons and seeing lights - but building a composition, watching it develop, and then seeing it played back. That experience of authorship and replay is meaningful in ways that a standard colour-change panel cannot replicate.
For occupational therapists, the three modes map cleanly onto different therapeutic goals. Circle Grow and Fade rewards sustained holding and builds attention span alongside fine motor endurance. Fireworks rewards rapid pressing and builds cause-and-effect understanding with dramatic immediacy. Dot Tracking requires visual tracking and anticipation, engaging the oculomotor system in a structured, self-paced activity. Running a session across all three modes gives a therapist a complete visual sensory engagement circuit in a single device.
For educators, the silence and the replay function are particularly valuable. A student at a Pixels Pro station can work independently, see their creation replayed when they pause, and return to it without losing their work - a genuinely self-directed creative experience that needs no supervision once introduced.
For families building home sensory spaces, the Pixels Pro is a piece of equipment that grows with the user. The three modes offer different challenges at different developmental stages, and the iPad control option adds a layer of access and customisation as the user's skills and independence develop.
Skills Developed Through Engagement with the TFH Pixels Pro Illumination Panel
- Visual Creativity & Pattern Discovery - Building colour compositions, firework patterns, and dot tracks across the panel develops spatial awareness, creative expression, and the ability to plan and execute a visual design
- Cause & Effect Understanding & Cognition - Each button press triggers an immediate, visible, and distinct response; the relationship between action and outcome is unambiguous and consistently rewarded, building the cognitive foundations for intentional engagement
- Colour Recognition & Visual Discrimination - Selecting, mixing, and comparing colours across the three modes provides rich, repeated exposure to colour identification, comparison, and preference expression
- Fine Motor Skills & Sustained Holding - Holding colour buttons to grow circles or pause fireworks develops grip endurance, pressure modulation, and the fine motor control needed for functional daily activities
- Visual Tracking & Oculomotor Development - Dot Tracking mode requires the eyes to follow a moving stimulus across the panel and anticipate its position, directly exercising the visual tracking skills that underpin reading and eye-hand coordination
- Attention & Focus - The auto-playback feature extends the attention arc of each session - users stay engaged to watch their work replayed, building the sustained attention that supports learning and therapeutic progress
- Independence & Environmental Control - Operating the panel autonomously - choosing modes, colours, and effects without prompting - builds agency and confidence, particularly for users who have limited control over their daily sensory environment
Ideal For
The TFH Pixels Pro Illumination Panel is designed for occupational therapists seeking a multi-application interactive tool for visual and fine motor therapy sessions; school sensory rooms and calm corners where independent, self-directed creative engagement is the goal; clinical and residential settings where a wall-mounted, silent, continuously-engaging visual device is needed; and early childhood and educational environments where colour, pattern, and cause-and-effect exploration are developmental priorities.
It works for neurodiverse and neurotypical users alike - for anyone who has ever pressed a button and felt the particular satisfaction of watching something build, grow, and then replay itself back to them.
