Press, Select & Control with the Experia IRiS Color Selector Deluxe – Experia IRiS Colour Selector Deluxe for Switching Skills, Colour Recognition & Sensory Rooms Across North America

Description

The Experia IRiS Colour Selector Deluxe is a touch-activated IRiS Talker available across North America. Touch any of the eight colour zones on its surface and every paired IRiS Listener in the room — bubble tube, fibre optics, infinity tunnel — changes to that colour instantly. It is completely wireless, battery-operated with batteries included, and operates from up to 90 feet away.

What makes the Colour Selector Deluxe the most versatile touch-to-colour IRiS Talker in the Experia range is the combination of two features that no other colour-selection Talker provides simultaneously: 8 switching modes and 8 external switch jack sockets.

The 8 switching modes are: locked, toggle, momentary, racing, passive, timed, scroll stop, and scroll next. Each mode is designed to match a different level of switching ability and a different therapeutic goal — from simple one-press colour activation (momentary) to progressive colour cycling (scroll next) to timed activation for users who benefit from consistent, metered responses. Selecting the right mode transforms the same touch pad into the appropriate switching tool for each individual user.

The 8 x 1/4" jack sockets allow any external assistive switch to be connected to the unit. A user who cannot touch the colour pad directly — due to limited reach, motor planning challenges, or position constraints — can activate the Colour Selector Deluxe through any compatible external switch plugged into one of the 8 jacks. This makes the product accessible to users well beyond those who can directly touch the pad.

The unit is tough and rugged, built to withstand the expected physical demands of active therapeutic and educational use. At 5 lbs, it can be positioned anywhere in the room — on a table, a floor, or a mounting surface — and the wireless range means the distance between the Colour Selector and the Listeners is not a limitation.

Requires at least one IRiS Listener (sold separately). Adult supervision required. Ages 3+.

Key Features of the Experia IRiS Colour Selector Deluxe

  • Touch-Activated Colour Control - Touch a Colour Zone, All Paired IRiS Listeners Change - The Colour Selector Deluxe features 8 colour zones on its surface; touching any colour zone sends a wireless signal to all paired IRiS Listeners, changing every Listener to that colour simultaneously.
  • 8 Switching Modes - Locked, Toggle, Momentary, Racing, Passive, Timed, Scroll Stop, Scroll Next - Eight distinct switching modes are built into the unit; each mode is designed to match a different level of switching ability and therapeutic goal, from direct momentary activation to timed responses to progressive colour cycling.
  • 8 x 1/4" Jack Sockets for External Switches - Eight external switch jack sockets allow any compatible assistive switch to be connected to the unit, making the Colour Selector Deluxe accessible to users who cannot touch the colour pad directly; up to 8 different external switches can be connected simultaneously.
  • Completely Wireless - Battery Operated, Batteries Included, 90ft Range - The unit is entirely wireless; batteries are included and the operating range is up to 90 feet, allowing it to be positioned anywhere within a standard sensory room.
  • Tough and Rugged - Built for Active Therapeutic Use - The Colour Selector Deluxe is built to withstand the physical demands of regular therapeutic and educational use, including expected knocks, drops, and repositioning.
  • Controls Multiple Listeners Simultaneously - Like every IRiS Talker, the Colour Selector Deluxe can control multiple paired IRiS Listeners at the same time; one colour touch changes all of them together.
  • Made in the USA - Manufactured by Experia USA.

Skills Developed Through the Experia IRiS Colour Selector Deluxe

  • Switching Skills - Across 8 Levels of Complexity - The 8 switching modes are each designed to develop a different level of switching ability; a user who begins with passive or timed modes can progress through toggle, momentary, and scroll modes as their switching skills develop — the same device adapts as the user grows.
  • Colour Recognition - Touching a specific coloured zone and watching the corresponding colour appear on all paired IRiS Listeners across the room develops colour identification, colour naming, and colour matching in a high-feedback, immediate-response context.
  • Cause and Effect - The direct, immediate connection between touching a colour zone and watching the room's visual environment change is a clear cause-and-effect experience; the scale of the response — a bubble tube, fibre optics, and a colour panel all changing simultaneously — amplifies the cause-and-effect signal.
  • Fine Motor Skills - Reaching toward and accurately touching a specific coloured zone on the Colour Selector Deluxe develops directed hand-to-eye coordination and fine motor precision in a high-reward, visually motivating context.
  • External Switch Activation - For users connecting assistive switches via the jack sockets, activating any of the 8 external switches develops intentional switch access — the foundational skill for augmentative communication, environmental control, and powered mobility.

Ideal for

  • OT clinics and therapy spaces where switching skill development, colour recognition, and cause-and-effect learning are therapeutic goals
  • Schools and resource rooms where a robust, versatile IRiS Talker can be shared across users at different switching ability levels
  • Multi-user IRiS sensory rooms where a touch-pad colour selector is the most intuitive interface for group sessions
  • Users for whom direct touch activation is appropriate, or who use assistive switches connected through the 8 external jack sockets
  • Anyone building or expanding an IRiS setup who wants the most versatile standalone colour-selection Talker in the Experia range

  • What is the difference between IRiS, Superactive, Calming?
    • IRiS: Take full control of your Sensory Room with Experia's revolutionary IRiS Wireless Sensory Products range. IRiS Products use the latest technology to allow any IRiS Talker to control any IRiS listener creating stimulating interactive multisensory environments for the user. • What is a Listener?: Experia products that light up and change colours, or create sound. This would include Bubble Tubes, Fibre Optics, Recordable Speakers, and more.  They are "Listeners" because they are listening for a signal from an Experia controller.
      • What is a Talker?:A Talker is Experia's word for a controller. Talkers/Controllers send signals to Listeners to change colours or make sounds. They are Talking to the Listeners. Talkers would include the Colour Selector, Qube, Balance Beam, and many more.
